Bruce Burton

BURTON, Bruce Dudley, 78 of Louisville returned to the arms of his Heavenly Father Tuesday March 15th, 2016 at Baptist Health Louisville with his family by his side.

Bruce was an inspiration to everyone, with his strong faith he overcame every obstacle in his life. He had nearly perfect attendance at church and at work. He was a member of the Poplar Level Baptist Church where he held various positions. He was a 1961 graduate of the University of Louisville, and retired Chief Chemist at the Louisville Water Company after 36 years. Bruce was honored by the Louisville Water Company by naming the Bruce D. Burton Water Quality Lab for his incredible character and integrity. He also served as President of the Kentucky Waste Water Association.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; Charles & Lida Burton, siblings, Vernon Burton, Donald Burton and Charles Burton.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years; Mary Helen Bruce Burton, children; Cecelia Jakoby (Paul), Daniel Burton (Jan), grandchildren; Kyle Jakoby, Katelyn Jakoby, step grandson; Kurt Faulk (Whitney), step great grandchildren; Hayley Corum and Austin Faulk, brother; Kenneth Burton (Jenny), sister; Linda Duvall.

Burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens East Cemetery to follow.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be donated to Poplar Level Baptist Church or KOSAIR Children's Hospital Foundation.
