Roger "Bear" Fitzner Sr.

Roger Stephen “Bear” Fitzner Sr., 77, husband of Karen Hill Fitzner, died Wednesday September 11, 2019  at his home in Louisville.  Roger was born on January 1, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky the son of the late Bud and Marie Hazelip Fitzner.  Roger was an avid bowler, enjoyed reading about history, loved all sports especially UK and the Cardinals.  He was a past member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks.

Besides his wife of 35 years , he leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Roger Fitzner Jr., and Jason Sawyer, sisters, Sandra Maguire (Michael) and Linda Bowman (Terry), brother, Donald Ray Fitzner (Mary Louise), grandchildren Chris Fitzner (Katie), Stephen Fitzner (Kimberly),  6 great grandchildren including Phoenix Fitzner, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Fitzner.
