Walter “Tommy” Thomas Truax left his earthly body to join his wife in heaven on April 21, 2022 at the age of 78. Born to the late Walter B. and Doris June Truax, he was a graduate of Eastern High School in Louisville, KY. He was a member of the SMW Local 110 and spent his working life as a sheet metal journeyman until his retirement in 2004. Tommy enjoyed spending his spare time fishing and hunting as well as at the lake with his family. He loved his wife and daughters like no other and did everything in his power to provide a good life for his family and always supported his daughters. As a granddaddy he rarely missed a game or recital and was a large part of his grandchildren’s lives.
Tommy is survived by his loving daughters, Donna (Steve) Ader, Sharon (Jon) Slavey; his grandchildren who adored him, Ben (Reagan) Ader, Virginia Ader, MollyJane Ader, Erica Slavey, and Aaron Slavey; his great grandchildren Amelia and Callie; and his brother David Truax. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Cora Truax; his brothers Norman Truax and Harold “Topper” Truax.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 2 – 7 at Louisville Memorial Gardens East Funeral Home, 11601 Ballardsville Rd. Louisville 40241. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, April 25th at 11 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tommy’s name to the Kris Landers Foundation 2610 Stonefield Lane LaGrange, KY 40031.
