Sue Dobson, 96, of Louisville, Kentucky, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
She was born Sept 4, 1928, in Trimble County, Kentucky, and lived in Oldham County most of her life. She later moved to Louisville and Jefferson County during the 1980s, to enjoy retirement, with her husband, BillDobson, when they moved to the Graystone Manor community off Westport Road. They were also activemembers of Westport Road Baptist Church over the last 25 years.
After 26 years of service, Sue retired from Citizens Fidelity Bank and Trust Company, Oldham County in 1988. During her tenure with Citizens, she attained the level of Assistant Vice President. She also held a variety of positions during her career at the La Grange, Pewee Valley, and Crestwood offices, including the branch manager of the Crestwood branch.
During her career, she was a member of the National Association for Bank Women. In addition, she has been a member of the Oldham County American Cancer Society Board of Directors and the American Heart Association.
She lived life fully, was very independent in her own home, spending time with friends and family. She appreciated and loved her Graystone community neighbors, who all watched out for her and were like family.
Sue is predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Bill Dobson. She is survived by her daughter, Alice Main; nieces, Elizabeth Carmichael, and Sara Francis; step-daughters, Stephanie Beriault and Melissa Dobson; grandson, Zack Barth; and nephews, Jerry Casada and Mark Well.
A visitation and funeral will be at Louisville Memorial Gardens - East, 11601 Ballardsville Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40241, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. The visitation will be at 10am EST and the funeral service will follow at 11am EST.
A second visitation will take place on Friday, October 4, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens East, with funeral services to follow at 1:00 pm. Burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens East will follow.
Sue’s warmth, love for life, and genuine care for those around her will live on in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
