Ronald Redmon

Ronald James Redmon, 70, returned to our heavenly Father on Thursday, April 27, 2023.  Ronnie suffered for several years from Parkinson’s Disease and sadly just could not fight it any longer.

Ronnie attended Valley High School graduating in 1971.  Upon graduation, he attended Murray State University on a basketball scholarship before transferring to Bellarmine University for his final two years.

Ronnie, in his younger years, was a great athlete and was selected to the prestigious Kentucky team of the Kentucky/Indiana Basketball All-Stars.  With his 6’6” height, he was also quite intimidating as a high school/collegiate baseball pitcher.  Ronnie’s friends and family will always cherish his love to laugh and kid around.  He loved his family and always enjoyed time spent with all his nieces and nephews.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and June Redmon.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Cathy Perry Redmon, their two sons, Matthew (Elizabeth) and Stephen (Casey), two grandsons, Gabriel (Gabe) and Augustus (Gus),  and two step grand children, Dakota and Noah.  He is also survived by his brother, Michael (Lynda) Redmon and his sister, Brenda (Russell) Broady.

Visitation will be at Louisville Memorial Gardens East, 11601 Ballardsville Road on Monday, May 1, 2023 from 10:00am to 1:00pm with a memorial service to follow immediately at 1:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Barren Heights Retreat Center, 11420 Watterson Court, Suite 800, Louisville KY 40299.
