Robert Kirk

Robert Lee Kirk 92, residing in Bowling Green, formerly of Louisville, KY, entered into rest Friday, February 12, 2016 at Magnolia Village. Bob was born September 28, 1923 in Owensboro, KY. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Leonard Groom Kirk, parents Ora Lee and Amy Isabella Mills Kirk, and one son Robert Stephen Kirk.

Bob was a retired Appellate Conferee from the IRS. He was a charter member of the Westport Road Baptist Church in Louisville, KY, and a veteran in the U. S. Army having served in WW II, and retired as a Major from the Army Reserve.

Survivors include his daughter Nancy Julia Thomas (David M.) of Franklin, KY, daughter-in-law Bonnie Gooch Kirk of Florence, KY, one sister Barbara Miller Vincent of Owensboro, KY, two brothers Clarence "Buddy" Kirk (Mabel) of Bowling Green and Tom Kirk (Betty) of Crown Point, IN. Five wonderful grandchildren Nathan and Mark Thomas, Amy Bee, Katie Pitmon, Jonathan Kirk, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews survive.

Funeral services will be conducted, Tuesday February 16, 2016 at 12:00 pm EST at Westport Road Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. Visitation on Tuesday will be 11:00 am EST until time of services at Westport Road Baptist Church. Burial will be in Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
