September 1, 1934 — July 26, 2024

Richard “Dick” Guyot was born on September 1, 1934, in Wyandotte, Michigan, to Roscoe and Celia Guyot. As the eldest of five brothers, Dick grew up in a close-knit family and attended Mt. Carmel Parochial School. His service in the United States Navy during the Korean War marked a period of great pride and dedication in his life.

Dick fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning a retreat in Northern Michigan, where his passion for hunting and fishing thrived. Alongside his beloved wife Neva, he purchased Trails Campground and later founded Guy’s Cleaning, which served the Grayling and Roscommon communities for over 20 years.

Family and friends were the heart of Dick’s life. His love for them was boundless, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His deep affection and cherished memories will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Dick was known for his meticulous nature, often documenting his thoughts and plans. After his passing, a list of ideas for his obituary was discovered among his files. His final message expressed his love and dedication: “Sorry to leave my beloved wife Neva. I did my best.”
