TROWEL, PURGIE WILLIS SR., 61 of Pewee Valley, KY, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at his home.
He was a VERY active member of Taylortown A.M.E. Zion Church, Past Master Prince Hall Masonic Lodge Prospect #109, and retired after 35 years from UAW Ford Kentucky Truck Plant.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Trowel; granddaughter, India Trowel; sisters, Beatrice Screws and Iola Scruse.
He is survived by his daughters, Kimberley Smith (Michael), Stacy Gordo (Raymond); son, Purgie "Toddy" Trowel (Danetta); granddaughters, Tia Trowel, Lashonna Walton, Isabella Gordo; grandson, Tre' Hunter; great- granddaughter, Ryleigh Carter; sisters, Arnita Wells, Noralene Greene; brothers, Henry Trowel and Clayburn Trowel; a host of nieces and nephews; and two furry companions, Lucky and Pocket.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., Taylortown A.M.E. Zion Church, with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
