Owen Dolin

DOLIN, OWEN EDWARD, 86, of LaGrange, KY, passed away on December 21, 2013. Owen was born in Charleston, WV and was a graduate of Sissonville High School. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Upon his return from military service, he married Maxine Casto. While married with three children and working, he graduated with honors from Morris Harvey College (now University of Charleston). Owen worked over 40 years for Monsanto as a chemist in Nitro, WV and Anniston, AL. He and his wife, Maxine, have been blessed with many good friends through the years. Owen was a man of faith and served the Lord in the churches they attended, most recently the Covenant United Methodist Church in LaGrange. Owen was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Rhodes, grandson, Clint Colquitt, and his sister, Alice McCollum. Owen will be greatly missed by his family members: his wife of 67 years, Maxine; his daughter, Gloria Ellis (Clay); and his son, Owen L.Dolin (Ann). He has seven grandchildren: Erin Sharp (Andrew), Jonathan Ellis, Mark Ellis, Andy Colquitt (Lisa), Matt Dolin, Brad Dolin and Christine Dolin. He has three great-grandchildren, Faith, Steven and Linda. . Service will be Friday, 11 a.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 909 W. Jefferson St., LaGrange. with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens East. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Covenant United Methodist Church, 909 W. Jefferson St., LaGrange, KY 40031. -
