Omerea Sparks

Omerea Ferguson Sparks, 87, loving wife to Carl D. Sparks, passed away on Friday November 2, 2018 at her residence.  She was born to the late Russell and Martha (Ratliff) Ferguson in Grayson, Kentucky.  She is also preceded in death by a brother Billy Ferguson, a sister Mary Lou Bays, and son Carl “Tony” Sparks.

Omerea graduated from the Louisville General Hospital School of Nursing in 1952.  She retired from Boyd County Health Department after 30 years of service.

Besides her husband of 66 years she is survived by children, David Sparks (Gloria), Deane Bialczak (Bobby) along with grandchildren, Jason Sparks, Joshua Sparks, Whitney Vredenburgh, Katie Richards, and Abby Rothrock.  She will also be missed by great-grandchildren, Ainsley, Decklan, James, Nolan, Olive, Lucy, Arthur, Izzy, and Eddie.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1:00 pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home East, 11601 Ballardsville Road.  Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 until time of service at the funeral home.
