Marie D. Krupp

Marie D. Krupp, 89, entered the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.  She was born Marie Pearl Derrickson on January 7, 1934, in Jackson, KY, to the late Algin and Pearl Derrickson.  She was the youngest of 10 children.  Marie was a graduate of Good Samaritan College of Nursing School in 1955 where she received her bachelor’s degree as a registered nurse.   After graduation she moved to Louisville, KY, for her first nursing position at Baptist Hospital as an IV Nurse.  She continued her career as a caring nurse working for a private practice doctor until she retired in 1982. 

Marie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Shirl Krupp, of 46 years and her son, Michael Krupp.  She is survived by her son, Alan Krupp (Pam) and three grandchildren, Ryan Krupp, Tyler Krupp, and Meredith Krupp.  She is also survived by her brother, Charles Derrickson, her sister, Fern Dalton and many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Marie lived life to the fullest, always looking for ways to “FROLIC”.  She loved and cared for so many family members and friends throughout her life and she will always be remembered for her sweet and kind heart.  She will be greatly missed by All!

Visitation will be held at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Homes East, 11601 Ballardsville Road, Louisville, KY 40241 on Monday, March 27, 2023 from 11:00 AM -12:30 PM with memorial services immediately following in the cemetery chapel. Funeral services will be on Monday, March 27, 2023, at 12:30pm.

We want to thank the staff at the Enclave of East Louisville for the continual love and care they provided to Marie over the past couple of years.  We were blessed to have these caring individuals as part of our family in our time of need.

In honor of Marie’s great love for children, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
