Leo Swerbinsky

September 10, 1933 — February 16, 2014

Leo Swerbinsky, 80, husband of the late Janet Piggott Swerbinsky, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Jefferson Manor. He was born September 10, 1933 in Ossa, Ukraine to the late Michael and Eugenia Gorodko, Swerbinsky.
Besides his wife and parents Leo was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Lee Montgomery; and his brothers Anatoly and George Swerbinsky. He is survived by his wife, Gladys; his daughter Jane Murden of Roan Mountain, TN; his son Bryan Swerbinsky of Greensboro, NC. ; sister, Mary Edens of Bellaire, MI; eight grandchildren and one great- grandchild; and step-children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Leo graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's in Business Administration. He retired from General Electric after 35 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing bridge. He always shared the fruits of his garden with zest. He was an avid reader and loved to tell a story. He will be missed, may he rest in peace.
A service celebrating Leo's life will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday February 19, 2014 at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home East, 11601 Ballardsville Rd., Louisville, Ky. 40241. Visitation will be from 11:00 am Wednesday at the funeral home until service time. Entombment will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
