Lawrence F. Thompson

Lawrence F. Thompson “Uncle Fearn”, 83, of Pewee Valley, passed away on September 26, 2024. He was born to Samuel And Ethel (Eddins) Thompson on September 1, 1941, in Lockport, Kentucky. 

Lawrence was a strong, gentle, caring man who never met a stranger. He loved his family fiercely, and was always willing to help anyone at any time. Lawrence retired from Inland Container and was union president of UPI Local #1733. He was also a member of PeWee Valley Masonic Lodge #829, and Lockport Lodge #772.

Lawrence is preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Vestal; granddaughter, Lori Vestal; 5 brothers; and 5 sisters.

Left to cherish his memory, Lawrence is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Nancy Carroll Thompson; daughter, Lisa Thompson; son, Mark Sauer; brother, Bruce Thompson (Jenny); sister, Sherrill Welch (Daniel); and “grandchildren”, James Gill, Philip Gill, Pharan Gill, and Arabella Call.

Lawrence requested cremation with no service and his ashes to be buried at a later time. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Juvenile Diabetes and Hospice of Louisville in honor of Lawrence.
