Jones, Kenneth Ray, 61, of Louisville passed away Saturday at Baptist Health after a short illness.
He was a graduate of Butler High School and University of Kentucky with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics Education in 1975.
Kenneth also graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas with a Master's in Divinity in 1977. Following his graduation from Southwestern Ken spent 35 years of his life in North Carolina where he was Pastor of the First Missionary Baptist Church in LaGrange, North Carolina. He was also assistant Pastor of the Adamsville Baptist Church in Goldsboro, North Carolina and adjucnt Professor of Theology at St. Leo University near Goldsboro.
His memberships include, The American Association of Christian Counselors, and was a certified instructor with the American Sailing Association, as well as a part time dance instructor with the Arthur Murray Dance Studios. Ken also held numerous certifications in pastoral care and grief counseling. He was the founder and owner of the Jones' Advertising Specialties. His hobbies included his love of music and dancing, sailing, fishing and was an avid researcher for theological studies, social issues and current events.
Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Barbie Kinney (Charles); nephew, Rob Haynes, niece, Bethany Haygood (Brian); great-nephew, Jonah Haygood; numerous cousins, special friends, Linda Bader and Kay Little as well as many neighbors, friends at Hurstbourne Baptist Church where he participated in for the Ministry for Indian Christians.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
Burial will be in Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
