John R. Sabol, 71, of Crestwood, husband of Phyllis Hughes Sabol and the son of Eleanor Yuhas Sabol and the late John Sabol, died Saturday August 10, 2013 at Baptist Health in LaGrange.
He was Born in Somerville, N.J. September 26, 1941, was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army where he began his law enforcement career as a Dept. of the Army Criminal Investigator. From there he was involved and worked with many other law enforcement agencies around the country thru the years, including the U.S. Marshalls service where at one point he served as acting Marshall for the Western District of Ky. Eventually he became owner and operator of Sabol & Associates. He also was a member of American Legion Post #39 where he had served as Service Officer. Besides his wife of 32 years and his mother, he is survived by 2 daughters, Billie Simmons (Greg) and Linda Lott, 3 sons, Gordon Sabol (Stephanie), J.C. Sabol (Dawnya) and John Blessing. Eleven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Sabol.
A service celebrating John's life will be held 7:00pm Thursday at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home East, 11601 Ballardsville Rd. A gathering of family & friends will be from 4:00 Thursday until service time.
