James "Tom" Walker

James “Tom” Walker Jr., 81, passed away peacefully, on Monday, December 16, 2019 in Louisville.  Tom was born on March 21, 1938 in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of the late James and Elizabeth Walker.

Tom was a proud member of Beargrass Christian Church and he loved Jesus.  He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army,  past president of the Future Farmers of America in Tennessee and loved to work in his garden.   He enjoyed cooking, guns, coffee and dancing.  His daughters said he was “the lemonade man”, when life gave Tom lemons, he turned them into lemonade and he always had a positive outlook on life. He enjoyed spending time with his family, loved his dog, Abby, but most of all, he loved his wife, Patsy.

Besides his wife of 54 years, he leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Debra Emerson (Victor), Victoria Lambert, Rebecca Walker (Fiancé, Dona Hodges), Samantha Bartlett (Jason), son, Jeff Philips (Melissa), brother, Lary Walker, 12 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Clifton Oaks Care Center in Louisville, for their wonderful care and compassion for Tom.  Donations can be made in Tom’s honor to Clifton Oaks Care Center 446 Mt. Holly Ave., Louisville, Ky 40206.

A service celebrating Tom’s life will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, December 20, 2019 at Beargrass Christian Church, 4100 Shelbyville Rd., Louisville, Ky 40207.
