Irene Colvin

COLVIN, IRENE HAMMEL, 94, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. She was born June 3, 1919 in Jeffersonville, IN, the daughter of August and Anna Ettel. She retired as a manager from Stewart Dry Goods and was a member of Watkins United Methodist Church. She was also a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Floyd Hammel and Hewitt Colvin; a son, Gary A. Hammel. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Patricia Johnson-Bunnell (Carl) and Cheryl Prentice; a son, Glenn Hammel (Donna); a sister-in-law, Iona Ettel; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Burial will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
