Harold Edward "Ed" Probst 78 of Louisville, Ky. passed away on November 1, 2014 at Baptist Hospital East surrounded by his loving family.
He was a Valley High School graduate class of 1953.
He married Helena A. Melton of Louisville, Ky. on July 13, 1968 and they have been married for 46 wonderful years.
He was a pipefitter with local 522 (which is now 502), Maintenance Supervisor at International Harvester, and Maintenance Superintendent at Philip Morris until he retired in 1993.
Ed served in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a KY. Colonel, a member of the American Legion, AARP, River City Lodge 966 and a 32� Scottish Rite Freemasonry.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Helena, 2 sisters Mildred L. Haysley; Ruth L. Todd of Shamrock, TX.; 2 daughters Theresa L. Townley of Bethesda, Md.; Patricia A. Rose (Bruce) of LaGrange, Ky., 3 son's Mark L. Townley of Bethesda, Md.; James C. Probst Sr. (Shirley) of Charlestown, IN.; and John F. Probst (Suzanne) of Spokane, WA.; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lillian Probst; and a granddaughter Samantha M. Probst.
