Harold Wayne Lewis, of Prospect, passed away at 75 Feb. 12, 2016 at Rivers Edge Nursing and Rehabilitation Home. Harold was born Oct. 21, 1940 in Seguin, TX to the late Herschel Willetts and Joyce Burrier Lewis. He was a former employee of Standard Gravure, Ford Motor Co, and then enjoyed owning and operating the old Dickinson's Wallpaper and Paint Co. in downtown Louisville for many years until his retirement. Harold was a Vietnam Veteran and had been a member of Southeast Christian Church since 1974.
He is predeceased by his step father, George Ferrill Milby, Sr, brothers Herschel Byron Lewis, Ferrill Milby, Jr, sister Nancy Milby Vogel and brother- in- law and sister- in- law, John L and Roberta Smith.
Harold is survived by his loving family, wife Carolyn Charlene Smith Lewis of 52 years, sons, Gregory Byron Lewis and Mark Reed Lewis, devoted grandchildren (Greg's children), Warner Hunt , Morgan Reed and Ryan Elizabeth Lewis. Nephew and wife, Johnny and Betsy Smith, their children Devin Kirsten and Tyler Jon Smith, Harold gladly took on the role of grandpa to Devin and Tyler after the passing of their grandfather, John L , and he was honored to be called 'Grandpa' by them. Also brother-in-law Steve Vogel. He also leaves behind his devoted Chi, Bella.
A service celebrating Harold's life will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home East, 11601 Ballardsville Rd. Visitation will be from from 10:00 am Tuesday until service time.
