Eddythe Kay Van Devender, 70, passed away quietly in her sleep on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at her home in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born February 29, 1952, to the late Vardie and Emogene Hall in Prestonburg, Kentucky.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Paul B. Hall.
Left to cherish the sweet memories of Kay’s life is her husband, HM “Van” Van Devender; her precious son, Chris Van Devender; her siblings, Sharlene Sutton, Donnie Hall, Joyce Alstott, Dewaine Hall and Marlene Hall; along with her 11 nieces and nephews.
Kay attended and was a graduate of DuPont Manual High School, she then started her career in customer service, working in the offices of Sears, and then General Electric until her retirement. She was extremely gifted and creative in crafting, card making, painting and decorating. Kay enjoyed traveling to historic places and had a special place in her heart for her cats. She and her sister volunteered for the Kentucky Humane Society, where they both adopted cats.
Kay was a loving and attentive wife, mother, daughter and sister that is and will be sorely missed by all her family and friends here in Louisville, Indiana and Florida.

Memorial Services will be held on October 31, 2022, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home East, 11601 Ballardsville Road, for her family and friends.
