Cleon Davis

Cleon Denvil Davis, 84, of Bedford, Ky., passed away Wednesday April 23, 2014 at his home. He was born July 18, 1929 in Bedford, Ky. to Manuel & Hallie Craig Davis. He was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church at Wise's Landing.
He retired from the Kentucky State Reformatory in 2001 to enjoy his life long love of farming and raising large gardens. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the military police.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Sue Arnett Davis, three daughters, Teresa A. Craig, Shonda Sue (Bill) Brown of Bedford and Jennilu Emerick of Louisville, Ky., and a son, Dwayne (Sonja) Tandy of Madison, Ind., one sister, Bertha Buchanan of Indianapolis, Ind. Seven grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Denvil Davis, great grandson, Brinley Craig, six sisters, Buelah Davis, Blanche Jackson, Leona Richmond, Lucy Rice, Flora Green and Theola Knox and four brothers, David , Hubert, Paul and Manuel Davis.
Memorials are suggested to the Pleasant View Baptist Building Fund. Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home East is in charge of arrangements.
