Cecil D. Bowling, 92, husband of Christina Bowling, died September 21, 2104 at Arden Courts of Louisville. He was born December 17, 1921 in Clay County, Ky. the son of the late B.C & Jeanette Hampton Bowling. He was a World War II Army Veteran and was a former Ky. State Trooper.
Cecil received his AB degree from Union College and his Masters from Western Ky. University. He taught school in Clay County where he met and married Christina Hacker. They moved to Louisville where he worked for the Franklin Pioneer Corporation, then he resumed his teaching career with JCPS for three years then became Assistant Director of Pupil Personnel for JCPS from which he retired in 1985.
Besides his wife of 62 years he leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Dr. Leslie Mudd (Jay), grandson, Jason Mudd (Tara), great granddaughter, Carter Jean, his sister, Carolyn Ashton (Richard) and his faithful dog, Peaches. He is preceded in death by brothers, Don, Carl, Maurice & Ray and sister Alma Keith.
A service celebrating Cecil's life will be held 1:00 PM Friday September 26 at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home East, 11601 Ballardsville Rd.
Visitation will be from 11:00am Friday until service time.
Memorials are suggested to Hosparus or the Ky. Humane Society.
