Bruce Alton Jacobson

September 30, 1943 — November 20, 2024

Louisville

Bruce A. Jacobson, 81, of Louisville, passed away on November 20, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.

He was born on September 30, 1943, in Richland Center, WI, the son of the late Orville and Wilma “Billie” Jacobson. He was a devoted husband, father, papa, brother and friend to many. Bruce graduated from Richland County High School in 1961. He was a member of the band and choir, where he was a soloist, even singing the song “You’ll Never Walk Alone” at his high school graduation. He was also called upon to play TAPS at many Veteran funerals, as well as sing at weddings and funerals.

After graduating from Richland County High School, he attended LaCrosse Area Technical College in LaCrosse, WI, where he was trained in tool-and-die making.

He enlisted in the Navy in 1962. Upon completion of basic training, he was selected to join the Submarine service. He served on the USS Sea Poacher, a Balao-class diesel – electric submarine for 2 years. He was then assigned to the USS Sam Houston, a Nuclear Powered Ballistic Missile Submarine, where he was a member of the “Blue Crew.” He never shared much about his time at sea, as it was classified, and has now been taken to the grave with him. He was honorably discharged in 1968.

On September 11, 1965, he married the love of his life, the late Sharon “Sharry” Jacobson ( Sanrope ) and they shared 54 amazing years together. Together, they had their daughter, Jennifer. His focus has always been providing for his family. He spent his life selling and was frequently referred to as the “King of Salesmen” to those who worked with him. He spent the past 25 years at Presentation Solutions, where at the time of his passing, he was still actively working as the National Sales Manager, and did this until his very last breath. He was a loyal Green Bay Packers and University of Louisville fan, as well as an active outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish, but more than anything, he loved spending time with his daughter and her family.

In addition to Sharry, Bruce is preceded in death by his parents Orville and Wilma “Billie” Jacobson, and brother in law, David Nee.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Jennifer Meador (Charlie); grandchildren, Dakota (Rue), Ethan and Madison; his sister, Jane Nee; brother, David Jacobson (Debbie); nephews, Chad (Jenna), Josh and Cody Jacobson and Jeff Nee (LeAnne); niece, Betsy Baker (Jon); a host of extended family, and close friends that were family by choice.
