CROPPER - Young, Billy L., 75, of Cropper, former resident of Louisville died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at his home.
He was born in Burkesville, KY on June 24, 1938 to the late Jesse and Mattie Young. He attended Living Waters Church. He retired after 42 years from Container Corp of America. He was President of United Paper Workers Union for 20 years. He was former pastor at Lampton Street Church for several years. He was a retired Shelby County school bus driver.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Nell Allen Young; grandson, Nathan Goodman; and brothers, Hall and Hildreth Young.
He is survived by his daughter, Mitzi (Darren) Redmon, Southville; Rick (Beverly) Young, Crestwood; four grandchildren, Jason, Lindsey, Mandy, Mallory; four step-grandchildren, Mary Beth, Jonathan, Adam, Andrew; two step-great-grandchildren, James, Nolan and sister, Hazel Morrison, Chesterfield, IN.
Funeral services will be Noon, Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the Shannon Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013 at the funeral home.
