Andrea Hardin-Hughes, a business owner and certified chef, passed away on October 24, 2023, in her hometown of Louisville, KY. She was born on November 26, 1964, to David Hardin Sr and Amney Clore. Andrea's entrepreneurial spirit led her to own Cafe Andritzies with her dear friend Mitzie. Additionally, she ran a successful catering company alongside her beloved aunt Susie, who was like a sister to her.
From a young age, Andrea had an innate passion for cooking. After graduating from Rosarian Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida, she cultivated her culinary skills and eventually became a certified chef. Andrea's career allowed her to express herself creatively through food. Her dedication and skill were evident in every dish she prepared.
However, Andrea's true joy came from being a mother and grandmother. She cherished her role as a parent and found great fulfillment in hosting family gatherings and cooking for her loved ones. The warmth of Andrea's home was felt by all who crossed its threshold.
Beyond her professional success and devotion to family, Andrea dedicated herself to serving others. One of her proudest accomplishments was volunteering for several years at Nativity Academy At St Boniface alongside her grandson. Her commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of young individuals touched the hearts of many.
Andrea will forever be remembered as a spicy lady who loved deeply. Her selflessness was unparalleled, always placing others' needs before her own. Whether it was lending an ear or offering comforting words, Andrea had an innate ability to make those around her feel valued and cared for.
Her passing leaves behind an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who knew and loved her dearly. Andrea is survived by her daughter, Danielle Hughes; son, Zachery Harden; her three bonus children-in-love, Toni Rice, Diondra Calloway, and Malik Hughes; her brothers David Hardin Jr (Ann) and Chris Hardin (Cindy); her sister Betsy Tomes (Kieth); 9 beloved grandchildren (including her two partners in crime, Kennedi Robbins and Angelo Centeno); 1 great-grandchild; her aunt Susie; her uncle Matt; and her dear dog, Gracie, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and by her two sweet dogs, Tweetie and Foxie.
