Almaleen " Alma" Williams (nee Stewart), formerly of Elyria, OH. passed away at her home,
surrounded by her family in Louisville, KY. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Alma suffered from a
brief illness over the past year. Alma was born in Elyria, Ohio on June 7, 1949 to George Bass
(Father) and Georgia "Marie" Allen (Mother).
Alma was a 1968 graduate of Elyria High School and later attended Lorain County Community
College (LCCC) completing several General Education Courses. She was employed by Moen
Corporation (Stanadyne) in Elyria, OH for 12 years as a factory worker and Union
Representative. After relocating to Chicago, Illinois in the Spring of 1985, she began her career
in the Healthcare Industry. She later moved to Kentucky (Louisville via Lexington) where she
continued to work in the Healthcare industry as a Contract Specialist and Provider
Representative until she retired last year. Alma was wed to Lonnie Wayne Williams Sr. of
Elyria, OH. and they resided in Louisville, KY. Alma was a real people person and loved to cook
and entertain for family and friends whenever time allowed... she really enjoyed life.
Alma leaves to cherish her memory, her Daughter; Shona Rose of Chicago, IL., her Son; Erik
Holston Sr. (Kimberly) of North Olmsted, OH., Stepchildren; Lonnie Wayne Williams Jr, Darnell
Williams, and Ronell Williams (Keda) all of Elyria, OH., Delania Tolento Fenn of Atlanta, GA.,
and Alonda WIlliams of Lorain, OH. Granddaughters; Almaleen "Andy" Readus, Kristal Israel,
Kolbi Holston, Kailah Holston, and Dailyn Rose. Grandson; Erik Holston Jr., her Brothers;
Raymond "Dennis" Howard of Chicago, IL. and Darryl "Reb" White of Elyria, OH., Sister; Vickie
Felder of Elyria, OH., and Sister-in-Law; Darlene Sparks (Syvoid) of Sandusky, OH. Through
her union with Lonnie Wayne Williams Sr. she was blessed with an additional (19) grandchildren
and (2) great-grandchildren along with a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Wayne Williams Sr., her parents; George
Bass and Georgia "Marie" Allen; her sisters; Gayle Gibbons and Ann Marie White aka "Chinch",
and her maternal grandparents; George and Alma "Nana" Macon.
Dinner will be served for family and friends at 4518 Dickerson Ct., Louisville, Ky. 40245 following the service.
