Allen Beard

Allen S. Beard, 68, loving husband to Geraldine Beedle Beard, passed away Saturday June 11, 2016 at the Golden Living Center. He was born to the late Alonza and Agnes Powell Beard in LaGrange, KY on January 3, 1948. He is also preceded in death by brothers, William and Marshall T. Beard.
Allen was an Army veteran, serving in Vietnam as a combat soldier, and was a Master Drill Sergeant at Fort Knox training troops during Desert Shield Storm, a member of the American Legion Post and VFW Post in Frankfort, he was a Cincinnati Reds' fan, coach and umpired little league baseball in Oldham County, taught Sunday school at Crestwood Christian Church, and in his younger years played music in several local bands.
Besides his wife of 21 years, he is survived by children, Tony Mock, Melissa Shanahan, Adam Beard (Allison), Aaron Beard (Gwen), Jamie Anderson (Brian), Jeremy Anderson (Kasey), Adam Anderson (Jessica), and Kayla Upchurch along with 17 grandchildren, siblings, Richard Beard (Ruth Ann), Bessie Klein (Jules), Mary Ann Hall (Don), Nancy McCarty, and several nieces and nephews.
