Linda Elder

Linda F. Elder, 68, loving wife to Thomas M. Elder, passed away at home on Saturday December 1, 2018.

She was born to the late Jesse S. and Edith (Dowdell) Vertrees in Elizabethtown, Kentucky on June 8, 1950.

Linda was the Assistant Director of Information Technology for the Oldham County Board of Education, a member of Southeast Christian Church (Crestwood Campus), and she served as Past-President of PTA for both Centerfield Elementary and Oldham County Middle Schools.  She was also a Cub Scout Leader, member of the Croftboro Ya-Yas and was a “sweathog” for the Oldham County High School Marching Band.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her sons, Alexander (Maggie), Benjamin (Rosa), grandchildren, Jane and Hannah Elder.  She will also be missed by sisters, Brenda Perkins, Claudia Whitely, and brother Jesse S. Vertrees, Jr.

The family wants to extend a special thank you to Drs. Morgan and Webb, Barbara, Trish, Jeanne with CBC for their care and compassion.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 7:00 pm at Southeast Christian Church (Crestwood Campus), 6201 Crestwood Station, Crestwood, KY.  Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 pm until time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Kosair Shriner’s Hospital, or The Metro United Way.
